In early August, Volvo's cumulative sales in China exceeded one million, ushering in a new milestone. IIA learned that in the past September, Volvo's sales in China reached a new high, with a total of 17,270 new cars sold, a strong increase of nearly 16% year-on-year, and it has maintained double-digit sales growth for six consecutive months.

Since the second quarter of this year, the Chinese auto market has gradually recovered, and many auto companies have achieved sales growth, including Volvo. According to official sales data, in the first three quarters of this year, Volvo's cumulative sales in China exceeded 110,000, a year-on-year increase of 3.5%.

During the Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day holiday that just passed, the passenger flow and order volume of Volvo dealers' showrooms across the country also achieved growth. According to reports, the passenger flow of Volvo dealers' showrooms increased by 45% year-on-year, and the order volume increased by 64% year-on-year, showing a strong momentum.

Behind the continuous increase in sales volume, it is naturally inseparable from the improvement of product strength and the gradual optimization of product structure. At the end of last year, a new S60 based on the SPA expandable module architecture landed on the domestic market. From August to September of this year, the new S90 and the new XC90 are also on the stage. At present, these three models are in the stage of increasing.

At the 2020 Beijing Auto Show that just ended, Volvo also further expanded its electrified lineup, and its first pure electric vehicle, the XC40 RECHARGE, was officially unveiled. So far, Volvo has built an all-electric product matrix in the Chinese market consisting of pure electric, plug-in hybrid and 48V mild hybrid.
