初次看到第七代凯美瑞的时候，头脑中立马闪现出另外一台V6发动机、后轮驱动的丰田车。棱角分明的“X”造型前脸，显然要比上一代车型圆溜溜的前脸激进时尚了不少。厚重的侧面造型看起来更具安全感，同时多幅条合金轮辋也在营造稳重氛围方面帮了不少忙。看似普通的后视镜，在其与车身连接处新增加了一条扰流片。据厂家宣传，该扰流片可以在高速行驶中增加车身两侧气流与车身的贴合度，以便提供更为出色的行驶稳定性。

看到这样的内饰设计后，终于可以收起类似于老气横秋、呆板这样的形容词了。深红色的木纹饰条不但依然保留大气稳重的风格，并且在经过钢琴烤漆的处理后它也流露出几丝时尚感。重新设计的四幅式方向盘摒弃了老款的单调样式，在加入众多快捷按键之后更显精致。

如果您是第一次了解新一代凯美瑞的话，那么一定会惊讶于它的发动机排量已经从以往的2.4升变为如今的2.5升。没错，这也正是第七代凯美瑞最重要的变化之一。这台2.5升直列4缸发动机型号为5AR-FE，虽然与杰路驰那台同为2.5升的发动机在型号上只差了一个数字，但在增加了ACIS智能谐波增压进气系统后，其最大功率和峰值扭矩已经分别达到了：135千瓦@6000转/分钟、235牛·米@4100转/分钟。
